Kick in a Box vs. Bender Rehab

Kick in a Box started the season with a nail biter of a game. Nearly every player made it on base at least once. The team demonstrated excellent communication on defense, strategic baserunning and a level-headed sense of calm under stress. After much back-and-forth scoring (with some admirable fielding by their competition which left several runners stranded on base), newcomer Peter Jabbour kicked a walk-off homer in the bottom of the fifth to win the game. There is discussion of changing his name to "MVPete." The final score at the bar was just as close, but not in Kick in a Box's favor.

In the annals of history there have been some great rivalries that have lasted the test of time. There is Cubs vs the goat, Jesus vs Santa Claus, and more recently, America's Bender Rehab vs Kick in the Head.

The game itself was fairly uneventful, except for where KitH decided to pull out their sheisty Russian roots and trip our base runner, then claim that he kicked the baseman's foot, thereby interfering with the play, and so preventing yours truly from getting a run, and thus preventing Bender Rehab from winning the game. Sheistiness, I tell you.

It's okay, thought, the real action of the night was at Nick's Beergarden. Somehow they have acquired this beautiful new All-American flip cup table, this would be it.

Anyways, as expected, they tried to pull some of that sheistiness during flip cup too, but it was to no avail; we won flip cup 8-0.

  2. Reputation upheld Bender! Even when you win flip cup you lie about the score and cry about why you lost on the field.
